The 130 CVX is a 5.25 inch coaxial speaker from the Polyglass line of Focal speakers and features an innovative built-in 12db/octave audiophile crossover, which adds no mounting depth to the design. This crossover is constructed using polypropylene capacitors and air core inductors for an extremely dynamic and neutral sound. The unique Polyglass cone is made from a layer of hollow glass micro-spheres over a cellulose pulp which greatly increases the rigidity of the cone without adding weight. It has an Aluminum inverted dome tweeter on a rotating swivel mount for easy adjustments and controlled directivity.

This replaced a cheap Sony 5.25 inch that has been in the car for a year. I've used this Focal for about a month, probably about 100 hours. The difference was so obvious across the entire range. The Sony, costing half as much, can produce piercing trebles at times, and sound muddy with boomy bass. Now I can crank the volume up all the way and enjoy the orchestra. The bass notes are clear, and now it's easy to follow and enjoy the bass lines. The thump is there for a 5.25inch, although if you want more you need some bass reinforcement with larger speakers/subwoofers. I listen mainly to talk-shows on radio and classical music, and my wife enjoys listening the latest and contemporary music when commuting to work. The difference that it made was like having a cardboard taken off the old speakers. Everything is so clear, and probably is as clear as it gets until the road noise creeps into the car. To enjoy better speakers would require sound-proofing the car, but this Hyundai is not worth doing that, since sound-proofing will just reveal creeks and squeeks elsewhere.

I don't have an amp or anything hooked up to these yet and they still sound clean and clear. Amazing speakers that offer pure bliss. I am very pleased with them and can't wait to hear what they're going to sound like with an amp hooked up.
