Product Description
Infinity built their Kappa Series speakers with improved technology and high-end materials to provide you with outstanding sound reproduction. The low-impedance design makes these speakers very efficient you can even power them with your factory radio and get great results.
The Kappa 50.9cs component speaker system features 5-1/4"" woofers with responsive woven glass-fiber cones that won't flex during a hard workout. The Plus One design offers a larger surface area for improved low-frequency output and efficiency, while longer voice coils add a little more punch to the bass. Large magnets keep the woofers running cooler by placing more steel close to the voice coils to act as a heat sink.
Infinity uses the same textile dome tweeters found in many of their popular home speakers with this Kappa system, so you'll hear the music the way it was recorded with minimal coloration or distortion. The tweeters handle down to 2,500 Hz, almost an octave below the tweeters in many systems, so you'll hear more definition and detail, no matter where you sit. Infinity includes mounting hardware to install the tweeters in custom or factory openings.

First and foremost, these speakers rock my world. The separate tweeters put out such great highs i'm hearing parts of my music i've never heard before. Secondly, you must use an amp if you expect these speakers to work. I tried running them solely off the power from my Pioneer CD deck and failed miserably, all they did was put out a terrible buzzing noise. In short this was because the amount of power coming from the deck was not enough to reproduce the sound in the speaker. So...$200 later and a brand new Alpine 4 channel amp and the front components and rear 6x9s (all Kappa) are all running on Alpine and blasting great, clear, distortion free sound.

I ordered these speakers to replace some 7 year old Infinity reference speakers. The difference is astounding. The construction is more substantial and the quality is better. The cross overs are well made and the components inside are Infinity branded. Much greater accuracy and very "clean" sounding. The efficiency of these makes them much louder at the same setting as the old speakers. Because they are 2 ohm versus 4 my amplifier was a little confused at first, and was dropping out, but after turning off and on a couple times it has remained stable and sounds perfect. The bass is lacking at first but I attribute that to being new. Now they have some hours playing pretty loud the Bass is coming in. They are 5 1/4 inchers though so my Bass expectations aren't very high anyway. The tweeters are pretty big, I had to drill out my old stock tweeter mount panels to fit them. I believe the holes are 1 7/8 inches. The larger size tweeter allows a better integration between it and the woofer ( more range) so is over all smoother. It is really accurate and reproduces the high pitched claps etc. in Dance and rap music really well while also doing great with Jazz piano, acoustic and electric guitar and female voices without the sharpness of lesser tweeters. I would definitely recommend these.

I just installed this in the front of my 2005 Honda Accord 4 door EX. The sound is great! I love them but the tweeter was a pain to install. It was def to big to put in stock so we had to cut out the tweeter grill and hot glue them to the grill. After all said and done the sound is amazing! Would recomend in any car that it will fit in.
